The Seahawks begin their preseason schedule in mid-August against former AFC West rival Kansas City in Arrowhead Stadium. Neither the exact date nor kickoff time was announced Thursday by the NFL, which will disclose those details later this month. The game will be played between Aug. 11-15.
Seattle will play its second and third preseason games at CenturyLink Field against the Minnesota Vikings Aug. 18 and Dallas Cowboys between Aug. 25-28. The Seahawks close out their preseason slate Sept. 1 at Oakland, marking the 11th consecutive year that Seattle and the Raiders have met in the final preseason game.
All four exhibitions will be televised by Q13 FOX.
The Chiefs finished 11-5 last year and drew the AFC’s No. 5 playoff seed. They were eliminated by the New England Patriots 27-20 in the divisional playoffs. The Vikings also finished 11-5 last season and were eliminated by Seattle 10-9 in an NFC wild-card game in Minneapolis when kicker Blair Walsh missed a 27-yard field goal with 26 seconds remaining.
Dallas stumbled to a 4-12 mark last year with QB Tony Romo injured. The Seahawks defeated the Cowboys 13-12 in Week 8 in Dallas. Seattle defeated Oakland, which recently signed free agent LB Bruce Irvin away from the Seahawks, 31-21 in last year’s preseason finale.
