Gonzaga (26-0) remained No. 1 for the third consecutive week in the Associated Press college basketball rankings released Monday. The lone unbeaten team in Division I, the Bulldogs received 60 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel. Villanova (24-2) received the other five.
The Zags collected 1,620 points to 1,564 for Villanova. Kansas (22-3) is third and Baylor (22-3) fourth.
Among Pac-12 schools, Arizona (23-3) jumped from ninth to fifth and was followed by fellow conference members UCLA (23-3) and Oregon (22-4).
Gonzaga recorded a pair of victories last week, defeating Loyola Marymount 90-60 and St. Mary’s 74-64. The Zags play three of their final four regular-season games in Spokane, starting with the University of San Francisco Friday at 6 p.m.
