Gonzaga (30-1) finished No. 4 (same as last week) in the final Associated Press Top 25 college basketball rankings released Monday. Three Pac-12 schools finished among the top seven. The Zags received 1,430 points, trailing No. 1 Kansas (28-3, 1,619), No. 2 Villanova (28-3, 1,517) and No. 3 UCLA (28-3, 1,487).
Oregon (27-4, 1,364) finished behind Gonzaga at No. 5 and Arizona (27-4, 1,252) at No. 7 in a vote of 65 national media panel members. The Ducks had been ranked No. 6 in last week’s poll.
The Zags, who defeated Pacific 82-50 Saturday in the first round of the West Coast Conference tournament in Las Vegas, will play Santa Clara Monday at 6 p.m., PT.
The Pac-12 men’s tournament begins Wednesday, also in Las Vegas. Washington (9-21, 2-16) will play USC at 8:30 p.m. The Trojans defeated the Huskies 74-58 Saturday in Las Angeles.
