Who would wish it DID “go down the the way it did?” I thought Durant was somewhat non-committal in his response, but then what else was he going to say? His one year in Seattle was spent playing in front of a half-empty KeyArena (no fault of the players…fans were turned off by Clay Bennett & Co.) while he’s since been the king in OKC, where there’s no other game in town.
The impression I’m getting from interviews with players is that while they “feel bad” how Seattle lost the Sonics, they’re just shrugging their shoulders because they’re not too upset about it. Seattle? Oklahoma City? Just another one-night stop on the road, where the inside of one hotel room here isn’t a whole lot different from a hotel room there. It’s not a criticism of Seattle, but most of these guys just don’t really care.
