The Seahawks have done it again — they stumped the band. Trading down to the last pick in the second round, the Seahawks selected a running back from Texas A&M, Christine (pronounced KRIS-tin) Michael, who in his senior year rushed for 417 yards and 12 carries (4.74 ypr) and amassed 3,331 all-purpose yards.
His top time of 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash was a selling point. Michael, a native of Beaumont, TX., started 18 of 40 games, carrying for a 5.28 yards per game had 34 TDs, 15th-most in school history. In his senior year. he caught 44 passes for 323 yards and and one TD, and returned 10 kickoffs for 217 yards, amassing 3,331 all-purpose yards.
For the fourth year in a row, the Seahawks traded down in the second round. They swapped pick No. 56 with the Baltimore Ravens and the 62nd,and acquiring the 165th (fifth round) and 199th (sixth round).
