According to a Yahoo report, the National Basketball Association has levied fines of $15,000 each on several players who participated in the June 23 Washington Alumni Game at Alaska Airlines Arena. Yahoo stated that the NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement prohibits players from participating in offseason contests prior to July 1 or after Sept. 15 without league approval.
The fines were issued to Spencer Hawes of the Philadelphia 76ers, Quincy Pondexter and Tony Wroten of the Memphis Grizzlies and Isaiah Thomas of the Sacramento Kings. Yahoo said it was not immediately clear if two other ex-Huskies, Nate Robinson, a Chicago Bulls free agent, and Terrence Ross of the Toronto Raptors, had also been fined.
University of Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar organized the Alumni Game as well as a Legends Game. The events drew a roaring, sellout crowd of 10,000 to Alaska Airlines Arena, where, in the Alumni Game, the post-2009 Purple team defeated the pre-2009 White team 107-103. Thomas tallied 24 points for the winners.

that sounds like it was a heck of a fun game, sorry i missed it!
I find it hard to believe Coach Romar would arrange this with no knowledge on how the NBA operates. I wonder if this would still be an issue if this game involved Duke alumni and played in Raleigh?
