NFL football futures betting typically provides gamblers the chance to wager a little on teams for a small chance to win big. The Seahawks no longer fit that mold.
Boosted Sunday by Denver’s second-half collapse in a 34-31 OT loss to New England, Las Vegas oddsmakers Monday tabbed the 10-1 Seahawks an NFL-best 3/1 favorites to win Super Bowl XLVIII.
The distinction won’t make the Seahawks play better, nor will it immediately bring back the honorary Lebowski, Walter Thurmond, from his four-game suspension. It provides an accurate snapshot of how the rest of the country, and the bookies who profit from them, see the Seahawks faring the rest of the season.
Per the American Gaming Commission, more bets are placed on the day of the Super Bowl than any other. There is a reason that Las Vegas continues to build casinos and websites like this. Vegas is more right than wrong, and places no greater importance on any day.
Behind Seattle, the site lists the Broncos (7/2), the Saints (13/2), the Patriots (13/2), the Panthers (10/1) and the 49ers (14-1) as most likely to reach the Super Bowl. Fans of fractions will enjoy the Seahawks odds of taking home the NFC Championship (17/10).
Seattle still needs to clinch the NFC West, earn home-field advantage in the playoffs and maneuver through a suddenly daunting final five regular-season games.
Vegas has faith.

I find it interesting how the 49ers are still thought of highly, because to me they have some serious issues. The Cardinals and Chiefs should be above them IMO. Amazing that the Ravens, Giants, Packers and Vikings are not a part of this conversation.
