A diehard Washington State fan was saddened to learn of the passing of legendary Cougars baseball coach Bobo Brayton on Saturday. But the fan’s face brightened when he thought about the huge turnout he expects to see at the memorial service.
“They better hold it at a big place,” the man said with a smile.
A memorial service for Brayton will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Concordia Lutheran Church, near Stadium Way at 1015 NE Orchard Drive in Pullman. Private family graveside services will be held at the Pullman City Cemetery.
WSU athletic director Bill Moos, a longtime friend of Brayton, said an on-campus tribute to Brayton will be scheduled at a later date.
“His love and devotion to our university is unmatched, in my opinion,” Moos said.
For those wishing to make memorial donations, the family suggests the Bobo Brayton Endowment Fund (c/o WSU Athletics Dept., P.O. Box 641602, Pullman, WA., 99164-1602); the Parker Youth Sports Foundation (P.O. Box 1311, Yakima, WA., 98907); or another charity.
