If you’re looking to talk golf, the U.S. Open and Chambers Bay, we have the happy hour for you. Please join me and Ben Wood, general manager of TPC Snoqualmie Ridge and former pro golfer, at the Sports Salon at World Trade Center Seattle to talk about the most significant sports event the Northwest has hosted.
The June 10 event begins at 5 p.m. with a networking hour of quality food and drink at the fourth-floor restaurant with the big view, followed by a conversation about how industrial wasteland became a site the U.S. Golf Association would choose to host its most prestigious event, June 18-21 at University Place near Tacoma.
We’ll also talk about the challenges facing the 156-man field, as well as the economic/tourism impact of the tourney in the marketplace.
Raffle prizes include a round of golf for four at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge, including cart, and three Upswing Golf pitching wedges, courtesy of event sponsor CodeSmart.
Tickets are $15 for World Trade Center members, $25 for non-members.
The World Trade Center Seattle is at 2200 Alaskan Way, across from Pier 66.
