Twelve MLS players, including Sounders forward Clint Dempsey and defender Brad Evans, were named Saturday to the 23-player U.S. Men’s National Team roster for CONCACAF Cup playoff with Mexico at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena Saturday.
The match, between 2013 Gold Cup champ USMNT against its 2015 champion rival, will determine the region’s berth in the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.
For a change, the international call-up comes when the Sounders are off, and should not keep Dempsey and Evans from an Oct. 18 match at Houston.
