CB Kyler Gordon, the state’s top-rated recruit from Archbishop Murphy High in Everett, committed to the University of Washington Thursday night. He waited a day after Wednesday’s new early signing date for NCAA programs so he could have a spotlight to himself on KING5 TV.
His final two schools were UW and Notre Dame, after receiving offers from USC, UCLA, Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State and Washington State, as well as schools beyond the Pac-12.
Gordon is the 19th UW recruit in a class announced Wednesday that was already regarded as the Pac-12’s best by scouting services, ranking 11th nationally by 247sports.com and 13th by rivals.com
As a senior safety, Gordon (5-11, 180) had five interceptions and 44 tackles to help lead his team to the state 2A championship game, which it won a year earlier. As a wide receiver, he also had more than 1,600 all-purpose yards and 17 touchdowns.
