Former University of Washington and Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens was sentenced Friday to a month in jail for driving drunk in January in Manhattan Beach, CA. Married to soccer star Hope Solo, also a former Husky, Stevens was arrested while driving a U.S. women’s soccer team van at night with the lights off, according to prosecutors.
Solo, who was with Stevens at the time of the arrest, was subsequently suspended from the national team for 30 days over issues that were described as “health-related.” Last year, she had been ordered to refrain from drinking alcohol after being arrested at her sister’s home on domestic violence charges that were later dropped.
Solo has been since been re-instated to the U.S. national women’s team.
Stevens, 35, Seattle’s first-round draft pick in 2000, was ordered to enter a two-year alcohol treatment program and will be on probation for four years.
Stevens pleaded no contest last month in Los Angeles Superior Court to misdemeanor drunken driving charges. His blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit, prosecutors said.
Stevens also has a 2007 DUI conviction in Arizona.

Don’t feel too bad for Jerramy Stevens. He’s probably safer behind bars than at home.
Man, it’s just sad how his life has gone downhill after a great career at UW. Even as a Seahawk he underachieved. Really hope he gets things straightened out for his sake and simply become a productive member of society.
He dropped the ball in the end zone during the super bowl. Hard to forget.
