Washington State quarterback Luke Falk has been named the Pac-12 offensive player of the week for his 497-yard, five-TD performance in the Cougars’ 38-24 comeback win over Arizona State Saturday. The redshirt sophomore has won the award three times this season and four times for his career in 12 starts.
Falk completed 36-of-55 passes and his five touchdowns went to four receivers, including a pair to Dom Williams. After a slow first half, Luke hit on 20 of 27 passes for 349 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. All four TD drives in the second half were more than 70 yards.
In the fourth quarter alone, Falk completed 11 of 16 for 238 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Cougars to their third come-from-behind win of the season as they trailed 21-17 entering the final quarter.
Falk’s passing yardage was the third highest for a Pac-12 quarterback this season. Falk owns all three.
Gionni Paul of Utah won the defensive player of the week honor for his two takeaways in a 34-23 win at Washington. Raymond Hudson of California was named special teams player of the week.
The Cougars, bowl eligible for the first time since 2013, play at UCLA at 7:45 p.m. Saturday.
