University of Washington senior guard Andrew Andrews Friday was selected first team All-District 20 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), his third major honor of the season. Andrews was also named First Team All-Pac-12 and USBWA All-District IX.
Andrews led the Pac-12 in scoring at 20.9 points per game, totaling 712 points in 34 contests, the third most in a single season in UW history. He posted 18 20+point games and seven 30+point games during the 2015-16 season, the third- and second-most at UW, respectively.
Andrews’ 20.9 average is fifth best by a Husky and his 47 points against Washington State March 2 is the second-highest single-game showing in program history.
Andrews also led the Huskies in assists with 166, the fifth-highest total in school history. and averaged a career-best 5.7 rebounds. He set the UW career record for free throws made with 578, and his 273-for-321 mark this season ranked in the top five in the NCAA for both makes and attempts.
Andrews finished his career as the third-leading scorer in UW history, totaling 1,812 points after starting the season in 31st. In 128 games, he accumulated 388 assists (seventh all-time), hit 197 three-pointers (fourth all-time), and registered 148 steals (fifth all-time).
Andrews was joined on the first team by Dillon Brooks (Oregon), Jakob Poeltl (Utah), Gary Payton II (Oregon State) and Ryan Anderson (Arizona).
