Babineaux back in, Terrill now out [Seahawks.com] Whatever your job–writer, hairdresser, architect–sometimes you just have to say enough is enough and finish the job. Pete Carroll and John Schneider aren’t there yet, even though they’ve got a game in four days. Roster changes continue, and we may not have seen the last of them. Schneider insists that the team is better, but it’s hard to see this as anything other than a rebuilding year. Ugh.
Mariners offensive excels (for them) [MLB] The M’s tallied seven runs and beat the A’s. It was the first time in 15 games they’d scored more than four runs. Casey Kotchman actually did something, driving in the game’s first run and getting another ribbie on a sac fly.
Storm will face Dream for title [WNBA] Atlanta’s WNBA Dream advanced to the Finals with a 105-93 Game 2 win over New York. Take heart, Mariner and Seahawk fans — the Dream were just 4-30 in 2008, now they are in their league’s championship.

The Sounders’ James Riley hurt an ankle in practice. No word yet on severity.
High school hoops junkies (guilty!) will want to check out the Tacoma Community Center high school fall league calendar. Hoops from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at TCC each of the next eight Saturdays, including top teams like Garfield, Lakes, Foss and Lincoln. If Husky football goes in the tank, that’s where you’ll find me.
This is cool–a two-minute video showing the entirety of the Storm comeback vs. Phoenix. Watch to fire yourself up for Sunday.
For a nice time-kill–Joe Posnanski lists the 32 fastest pitchers of all-time. One Mariner makes the list; Randy Johnson at #9.
