The Huskies men’s varsity eight crew did it again Sunday, winning the Intercollegiate Rowing Regatta at West Windsor, N.J. The Seahawks Friday waived OT Garrett Scott, the first of their two sixth-round draft choices (199th overall) in the draft, with a non-football illness designation. Scott, who signed his rookie contract Thursday, was unable to pass his physical due to a rare heart condition.

Unless a settlement is reached, the NCAA will stand trial against former players in an antitrust suit that threatens the foundation of big-time college sports. A federal judge Friday denied the NCAA’s request to delay the trial, which starts in federal court June 9 in Oakland, the Associated Press reported Friday.

Huskies guard Andrew Andrews and Cougars top scorer DaVonte Lacy will be among 13 Pac-12 players on a four-game, all-star tour of China starting Aug. 10. The trip is part of the conference’s Globalization Initiative to try to get the Pac-12 brand in front of the Chinese audience.
