The Sounders Monday signed signed midfielder Lamar Neagle to a contract extension but did not disclose terms. Seattle nominated Neagle for MLS Comeback Player of the Year after he set career highs in appearances (30), goals (8), assists (4) and shots (61). He co-led the Sounders with 20 points in 2013.
The Mariners Monday signed free agent catcher Humberto Quintero to a minor league contract and extended an invitation to spring training next month in Peoria, AZ. Quintero, who split last season between the Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies, is not on the club’s 40-man roster.
