The Mariners Friday recalled RHP Emilio Pagan from AAA Tacoma and, to make room on the 25-man roster, optioned struggling RHP Sam Gaviglio to the Rainiers. Pagan was available Friday night when the Oakland Athletics played in the second of four games at Safeco Field.

Moore was the starting pitcher for Seattle Monday night when the Mariners began a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals at Safeco Field.
Nelson Cruz made the AL All-Star team Sunday as a reserve at designated hitter. Cruz has 14 homers and ranks second in RBIs.
