The Mariners (7-10) Friday recalled RHP Chase De Jong from AAA Tacoma and optioned RHP Dan Altavilla, who gave up a three-run homer to Trevor Plouffe Thursday, to the Rainiers. De Jong will be available at 7:05 p.m. Friday when they play the second of four games against the Athletics at the Oakland Coliseum.
Bob Rondeau, who has broadcast University of Washington football games for 36 seasons, will call one more and then retire following the 2017 campaign.
