Bremerton’s Nathan Adrian secured his ticket to the Summer Olympics in London Friday night by winning the 100-meter freestyle at the U.S. Swimming Trials in Omaha, NB. Racing in a final that included the top five finishers in the event in 2008, Adrian took off and never looked back, clocking 48.10 seconds.

Former University of Washington pole vaulter Brad Walker (2000-04) won the U.S. Olympic Trials Thursday night at Hayward Field in Eugene, OR, qualifying for the London Olympic Games. Another ex-Husky, Scott Roth, finished third, but will not go to London because he had not previously achieved an Olympic qualifying standard.

The Seattle Sounders ended one streak and kept another alive Tuesday night.
